You Had Me at Halo

Holly: But don't worry. I won't ruin your manly image by crying.

Vince: The good thing about being a loner is that i don't have a manly
image to worry about. Cry away.

Well, isn't it just nice? It ended nicely and i had my happily ever
after thing. . i just can't help but complain, can't the 3 (ie: Gemma,
Holly and Vince) of them remember everything?? I would have loved that
you know?

I Kissed a Zombie and I Liked It

"Until you've been dead, you really have no idea how great it is to be
alive.." - Doug

First things first, I only read this because i liked the previous one
that i've read. . The Zombie Queen of Newbury High. I was like isn't
it just gross to kiss a zombie?? More so, to like it? Just plain EWW!
As the story progresses i was rooting for them already. I even
wondered how the story will end, i had my hopes up. Although when i
turned the last page, it struck me. If only i've read between the
lines it was all realistic. Yes, at certain points, one way or another
it's the reality of life. There's no such thing as happily ever after
but you just have to live everyday happily for those people you love.

Zombie Queen of Newbury High

"Trust me, it's in no one's interest to know the truth about what is
really out there." - Chase Miller

I've read about Witches and Wizards, Vampires and Werewolves. Who
would have thought I'd get across a Zombie book? And a quick and funny
read at that. It's hard not to relate to Mia Everett's character. I
don't know how to review it without spilling spoilers here and there.
So I guess i'll leave it to this. Ashby will make you turn the pages
eagerly after the other. :)

A Millionaire's First Love

"I'll regret it for the rest of
my life. But this girl is more
important than 99.9% of my
inheritance that I'm throwing
away." - Kang Jae Kyung

Plot

Kang Jae-kyung (Hyun Bin) is
your typical rich kid. He's
arrogant, drives sporty cars,
attends the big clubs and rides
through school corridors on
his motorcycle. As his 18th birthday approaches he's set
to inherit his grandfather's
fortune, but first Jae-kyung
is required to transfer to a
new school in Gangwon Province
and graduate. Until then all access to his penthouse,
cottage and credit cards is
denied. Should he fail to
graduate or drop out then he
loses everything. If he wishes
to give up he'll only get 0.1% of his over-all inheritance.
With little choice he heads out
to the countryside and a small
town in which daily life is far
removed from what he's used to. Shortly after settling into
his new home he meets 19 year-
old Choi Eun-hwan (Lee Yeon-
hee), who just happened to run
into him back in Seoul. They
don't exactly hit it off; he's far too stubborn and cool for
school, while she sees hope for
him and sets out to make him see
it for himself. As they
eventually draw closer,
thanks to a set of coincidences and school projects they learn
more about one another. Kang
learns of Choi's terminal
disease and does what he can to
make her happy. He even tells
his lawyer that he would give up his inheritance so he could
buy the orphanage for her. Once during the rehearsal of a
play at the school, Kang Jae-
kyung notices that the play is
actually like the incident
that had happened in his life.
He recalls a childhood memory of being at the orphanage at
Gangwondo, where he had met
Eun-Whan and had made a
promise to return in ten days.
He went to find her and told
her that he was unable to fulfill his promise and did not
remember his promise or the
girl because his parents had
died in a car accident on that
same day so he erased all his
memories of the unfortunate past. The day of the play came and
Jae-kyung asked his classmate
a favor to trade places, him as
the Colonel rather than the
maid. He went to Eun-whan's side
and she asked him if he could put on the socks he bought
earlier to her. While they were
dancing, she felt a sudden pain
and went backstage then
returned much to Jae-kyung's
worry. Eun-whan's mother came to watch the show. Later, they celebrated the
success of the play. The
couple sat on the swing, Eun-
whan told Jae-kyung "Sarang-
hae" (Korean: "I love you.")
and that she's sleepy, sleeping for 3 minutes. The first snow
came. On their graduation day, Choi
Eun-whan received the Award of
Friendship but didn't come as
she never woke up, three
minutes was over. A white
bouquet of flower sat instead her seat next to Jae-kyung's
chair. He stayed for a while and
walked outside carrying the
flowers. His grandpa's lawyer
came, congratulated him and
told him that the inheritance is his now as of that moment. Jae-kyung
built a house with
many windows in memory of Eun-
whan. He stated after the 50
first snows hit its windows,
they will meet again.

The Undomestic Goddess

"But the truth is I need help." - Samantha Sweeting

Just lol. A lawyer who doesn't even know how to sew button turned into
a housekeeper along the way. Just LOL. I couldn't help but snort when
poor Mr. Geiger asked for her specialty.

Also, how much do i love the first time Nathaniel arrived at the doorstep.

Whenever there's a coming visitor, i also feel restless like what if
they will recognize Samantha?

I also came to the part where i hated Samantha. I mean she's the BEST
lawyer in town how come she gets to remember important things too
late? Goodness! Okay, i need to calm down. @_@

when everything got exposed i couldn't help but snort with laughter.

only one question left in mind.

How would HE take it?

And when i turned the last page after everything that's happened all i
could say was. .

WHAAAAT?

That's it?

I need to flip the other page just in case Kinsella is kidding me.

I've Got Your Number

"Once you've started
cheating, does it matter what your methods are?" - Poppy Wyatt

I read this book because:
1. I fell in love with Sophie Kinsella the moment i've read "Can You
Keep a Secret?".
2. I've read MANY positive reviews about this.

I will never forget Mr. Yamasaki or Single Ladies ever again. Lol.
I came to a point where i hated Poppy's "helping" churvas, but that
didn't take up too much time because everything went well afterwards.
And how much do i love their texting churvas? That's a bit realistic right?
i also happen to love the Magnum drama. And the text brigades on the
wedding day. I find it really thoughtful if not sweet. :)

Overall, i can actually say that i love this book. It took me only a
few days to finish this one, i could have did it in one sitting if i
hadn't got anything to do. :)

Once again, thank you for such an awesome read Sophie Kinsella. <3

Watch it!!

Nah. . Just wanna share that I bought a new watch today. It doesn't
cost much but this is the very first time that i get to pick and buy
myself a watch. :)

Aall Izz Well. . Be what you want to be!

"Pursue excellence, and success will follow, pants down." -Rancho

Okay, i watched this movie without expecting anything. Based on the
title i honestly thought it was just another idiotic jack-ass kinda
movie.
Imagine what i felt when i figured out what kind of movie this is.
This movie is so good, if not the best.
It's motivational, it's a movie about friendship, perseverance and more.
This movie was released in 2009, so it's been 4 years. Yep. I'm the
idiot. Lol.

Can i also say that Rancho/Mr. Wangdu is the totally gwapo version of
Mr. Bean? :)

Can You Keep a Secret?

"But it seems to me that these guys don't get to the top without
trampling over a few people on the way. They have to be pretty
ruthless to be so successful." -Jack Harper

This is the first Sophie Kinsella book i've read. As i turned the
pages i had a few number of smirks and giggles and when almost done, i
felt a bit mad at Jemima. I wanna do the same thing that Lissy did to
her. Lol. This book is fantastic but it didn't give me the
i-wanna-read-it-again feeling. But yea, it was a pretty good journey
if not better. :)

Avada Kedavra

As I turned the book cover close, it dawned on me. My magical journey
at Privet Drive, The Burrow, Grimmauld Place, Shell Cottage,
Gringotts, Ministry of Magic, Diagon Alley, Leaky Cauldron,
Ollivander's, Flourish and Blotts, King's Cross and most especially
Hogwarts has officially ended.

SAD

SAD

SAD

I managed to finish the last book after sooooo many years.
I deliberately tossed my HP books after Sirius Black died in Book 5
and after that i heard a rumor that Dumbledore will die too not long
after.
I was so heartbroken.
poor harry potter.
but then not long ago, i had a harry potter movie marathon out of
boredom after that i decided to ACCIO the books and read it from the
first part to the last part.
I'm glad i did.
But now realization hits.
The book's finished.
And a part of me is missing it already.
All's well that ends well.

Though it wouldn't hurt if Rowling writes an 8th book.
i mean i would surely want to know how the kiddos manage at Hogwarts.

ParaNorman

Norman: Because you want
everyone to hurt just as
much as you are. So whenever
you wake up, you play this
mean
game, but you don't play fair! Aggie: They hurt me!
Norman: So you hurt them
back? Aggie: I wanted
everyone to see how rotten
they were!
Norman: You're just like them, Agatha!

Plot

In the small town of Blithe
Hollow, Massachusetts, a boy
named Norman Babcock (Kodi Smit-McPhee) is able to speak with the
dead, including his
late grandmother (Elaine Stritch) and various ghosts in town. Almost
no one believes
him and he is isolated
emotionally from his family
while being ridiculed by his
peers. Norman becomes friends with
Neil Downe (Tucker Albrizzi), an overweight boy who is
bullied himself and finds
Norman a kindred spirit. During
rehearsal of a school play
commemorating the town's witch
execution of three centuries ago, Norman has a vision of the
town's past and being pursued
as a witch by the town's
citizenry. Afterward, the boys
are confronted by Norman's
estranged and seemingly deranged uncle Mr.
Prenderghast (John Goodman) who tells his nephew that he
soon must take up his regular
ritual to protect the town.
Soon after this encounter,
Prenderghast dies. Norman soon has another
vision, creating a public
spectacle of himself, which
leads to his father (Jeff Garlin) grounding him. His mother (Leslie
Mann) tells him that his father's stern manner
is because he is afraid for him.
The next day, Norman is
confronted by the
Prenderghast's ghost who
tells him that the ritual must be performed with a certain
book before sundown that day.
Norman sets off to retrieve
the book. He then goes to the
graves of the five men and two
women who were cursed by the witch they condemned, but
finds the book is merely a
series of fairy tales. Alvin (Christopher Mintz- Plasse), a school
bully, interferes with the reading
until after sundown. A ghostly
storm resembling the witch
appears in the air while the
cursed dead arise and pursue
the boys until they meet Norman's sister, Courtney
(Anna Kendrick), Neil and his older brother, Mitch (Casey Affleck),
who have come to retrieve Norman. The kids are
pursued by the zombies into
town, but Norman contacts
classmate Salma (Hannah
Noyes) for help, who tells
them to access the Town Hall's archives for the location of
the witch's unmarked grave. As the kids make their way to
the Town Hall, the zombies are
attacked by the citizenry.
During the riot, the kids break
into the archives but cannot
find the information they need. As the mob moves to attack
Town Hall, the witch storm
appears and Norman climbs the
Hall's tower to read the book,
but the witch strikes it with
lightning and causes him to fall back down into the
archives. Unconscious, Norman has a
dream where he learns that the
witch was Agatha Prenderghast
(Jodelle Micah Ferland), a little girl of his age who was
also a medium. After awakening,
Norman encounters the zombies
and realizes that all they
wanted was to speak with him to
ensure he would take up the ritual to minimize the harm of
the mistake they made with
Agatha. Norman attempts to help the
zombies slip away to have them
guide him to Agatha's grave,
but are cornered by the mob.
Courtney confronts the crowd
and convinces them to back off. Judge Hopkins (Bernard Hill) guides
Norman's family to the
grave in a forest. Before the
grave is reached, Agatha's
magic separates Norman from
the others. Norman finds the grave and
interacts with Agatha in the
spirit dimension, determined to
stop the cataclysmic tantrum
she had been having over the
years. She asks him to leave her be, but Norman holds his
ground, telling her he
understands how she feels as
an outcast. Norman endures her
assault and eventually
convinces her that her vengeance is accomplishing
nothing and persuades her to
stop. Norman tells her that
there must have been someone
who was kind to her. Agatha recalls happy memories
with her mother. She is able to
find a measure of peace and
move on to the afterlife. The
storm dissipates, and she and
the zombies all fade away. The town cleans up and regards
Norman as a hero. At the end,
Norman watches a horror film
with the ghost of his
grandmother, and his family
joins him.
